H.O. Wolding driver wins national trucking award

Julie Matulle, a truck driver for H.O. Wolding of Amherst, Wis., has been named the winner of the fourth annual Mike O’Connell Memorial Trucking’s Top Rookie Award.

Matulle, who was chosen from a field of 10 finalists, received the award in ceremonies on Aug. 22 at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas.

In an interview with Eric Harley of Red Eye Radio after receiving the award, Matulle said she could not believe it when she learned she was nominated and that hearing that she was actually the winner “took her breath away.”

“I really, really love my job and the chance to make myself happy and others happy as well,” she said in reflecting on her first year as a professional driver.

Matulle adds that she still has a hard time believing she won the award. “The other finalists were such amazing individuals and for me to win this award is just incredible. It is just a great honor.”

The award contest, which includes $10,000 and a variety of prizes, was launched by Randall-Reilly Recruiting Media three years ago to increase pride and professionalism among new drivers and to promote truck driving as a career choice during a severe driver shortage.

The 10 finalists were selected by an expert panel of judges representing motor carriers, training schools (public and private), suppliers and trade associations. There were 55 rookie drivers who were submitted by their employers for this year’s contest.

The criteria used to determine the winner were availability for loads, on-time delivery, highway safety performance, customer relations, work record and non-job related activities.

Under the contest’s selection criteria, any commercial driver’s license holder who has graduated from a Professional Truck Driving Institute-certified school, National Association of Publicly Funded Truck Driving school or Commercial Vehicle Training Association school within the past year and has been employed by a trucking company for less than one year is eligible for the award.
The Mike O’Connell Memorial Trucking’s Top Rookie contest operates as a partnership among Randall-Reilly, Truckload Carriers Association, Commercial Vehicle Training Association, Rand McNally, Shell ROTELLA, Pilot Flying J, Progressive Commercial Insurance, National Association of Publicly Funded Truck Driving Schools, American Trucking Associations and the Red Eye Radio Network.

Matulle is the third H.O. Wolding driver in the last two years to be chosen as a finalist. Last year, Nathan Reardon and Sandra Sherill were among the 10 finalists.

Truck driving is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for Matulle, who previously managed the fuel desk for several years at the Planeview Travel Plaza in Oshkosh, Wis., and then worked for 19 years in the shipping department at the Quad Graphics plant in Lomira, Wis.

After raising her two children as a single parent, she decided to pursue her goal of driving for a living. She completed the trucking driving program at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, Wis., in 2013 and soon afterward was hired at H.O. Wolding, a short, regional and long haul trucking firm.

Matulle says that trucking has affected every part of her life since she was a child. “My father started driving milk trucks at the age of 13 for his father and eventually purchased the business. I grew up on a farm with three trucks. I was the youngest so I was responsible for the farm end, but I was always the silly little girl who wanted to drive a truck.”

According to Marc Wolding, director of operations for H.O. Wolding, Matulle has quickly became known around the company as a hard worker and for always having a positive attitude, even when faced with adverse situations.

“Two of Julie’s strengths are her positive attitude and her ability to make the best of challenges,” says Wolding. “She understands the industry and knows that if she puts her best foot forward that she will be successful. Her dedication to doing her job as well as possible made us proud to nominate her for this award.”

Wolding notes that Matulle is consistently available for loads and is often running ahead of schedule. Since joining the company, Matulle has averaged 2,550 miles per week and has accumulated more than 100,000 miles.

Rob Behnke, who was Matulle’s instructor at Fox Valley Technical College, says she quickly grew into a leader while she was a student at FVTC. “Julie was not intimidated by the industry, and she was one of the most energetic and respected students we have had in quite some time.”

In looking forward to building a career in trucking, Matulle’s energy and enthusiasm are evident and she readily admits to “truly living a dream and loving my life.” Her career goals include becoming an on-road trainer for Wolding’s female drivers.

In addition to being a proud driving professional and trucking advocate, Matulle has served as a volunteer on numerous occasions. She has contributed many hours to projects for the U.S. military including Wounded Warrior and has prepared and sent care packages to the deployed. She has also served as a district manager for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge for Kwik-Trip employees for 10 years.

Worldwide Parcel Services Show Great Flexibility

Worldwide Parcel Services have developed a parcel delivery system which matches the best available both in terms of delivery speed, quality and price. The company has worked hard over the years to be as flexible as possible in order to offer its customers something special both in terms of quality and reliability. The parcel market has changed massively over the past decade and the business has grown throughout the world. Worldwide Parcel Services have developed with the introduction of the Internet, as this has been the single most important change in trade in a lifetime. Through the Internet rose the Internet trader and this now goes from the massive online unit like E bay and Amazon down to small individual users. There is another side of the business that the Internet has changed, in that communications between countries is now the same as communicating with the company next door. The communications can be face to face or by instant text. The result is that it is possible to see something a thousand miles away and purchase it immediately or to send present desperately required in the other direction.

Worldwide Parcel Services – http://www.worldwide-parcelservices.co.uk – recognise the vast changes that have occurred and will occur in the future and their flexibility of approach is aimed at moving with the times wherever that may take them. Worldwide Parcel Services will supply a delivery service to and from just about everywhere in the world, parcels can be quoted for delivery on line and all arrangements made instantly. The company has an excellent system of working with other companies so that they achieve the best and cheapest delivery system. Worldwide Parcel Services realised a long time ago that in the modern world it is not possible for even the largest company to be number one supplier in every country by delivering everything themselves as the world is just too big and too diverse but that the best results are by joining with the best couriers in a specific area. This applies even down to the small local companies who have the advantage of knowing their patch to the smallest detail.

In this case Worldwide Parcel Services are proud to promote their delivery services as they have forged some of the best delivery routes possible with some of the best and most reliable couriers in their parts of the world. The result has been that it is difficult to beat some of the prices that Worldwide Parcel Services now charges.

Flexibility applies across the board and Worldwide Parcel Services put virtually no barriers into their parcel delivery service and they have developed a great system for the delivery of odd shaped parcels or goods that weigh up to 500 kg. The delivery of awkward shaped and heavy parcels is one that most delivery companies shied away from but Worldwide Parcel Services realised that this is a most important market and that the customer does not want a courier who will pick and choose his parcels and so Worldwide Parcel Services have used their flexibility to develop one of the most complete delivery services going.

Christmas Comes But Once A Year For Worldwide Parcel Services

Tracking Santa Claus can be quite a problem, many a child has looked hard and the internet has sites for seeing where he is going but the practical difficulties of tracking a sleigh full of presents get in the way. Worldwide Parcel Services has worked hard to do its best to rise to the occasion and put Santa’s problems at the head of the queue so that whilst Santa Claus may not be visible the results of his work can be easily seen. The Christmas parcel trade is immense and gets bigger every year with the rise of Internet shopping and this is an occasion where the problem of deliveries will cause untold heartache to the children who believe that they are going to be sent the latest toy or gadget from that mysterious black hole somewhere in the frozen North. Worldwide Parcel Services has worked extremely hard to remove any such problems and parcels delivered right up to the 25th December will be treated with the respect they deserve and every effort will be made to deliver them on time.

The advantages of using Worldwide Parcel Services is that any parcel can be tracked throughout the UK so that if there are any worries or concerns about the arrival of that special parcel on that special day the progress of the parcel delivery the frozen wastes of the UK can be tracked and reassurance will be at hand. Tracking services have developed so much in the last few years and the technology of the industry is ever changing but these days a parcel is not a nondescript item that is thrown in the back of van but each is labelled and identified by its own particular code. Worldwide Parcel Services –http://www.worldwide-parcelservices.co.uk – uses that code so that its position in the country is always known. This ensures that the parcel takes the shortest route and that any hold ups or questions can be dealt with immediately to ensure that Santa Clauses problems are but temporary and that the parcel reaches its destination on time.

The Christmas period is a busy time but that is what Worldwide Parcel Services considers to be its job in life and has worked hard not only to ensure speedy and safe delivery but by choosing local hauliers with good reputations has been able to get a pricing system that rivals any in the business. It is easy to arrange for Santa Claus to take the parcel by logging onto Worldwide Parcel Services and booking the parcel through the internet and waiting for the collection for delivery to that special little person who is so reliant on getting it on time. In 24 hours it will be possible to track a parcel and with the safe delivery assured the job is complete. Santa Claus my only work one day a year but Worldwide Parcel Services work every day and will deliver that special parcel for any major event.

Worldwide Parcel Services Offers 5% Discount For ebay Deliveries

Worldwide Parcel Services is pleased to announce that it has encompassed the advantages of the eBay sales system and is doing what it can to ensure that this system of marketing can flourish by supplying good delivery rates for this particular market place. To this effect it is offering its customers and potential customers a 5% discount on the standard delivery rates for the goods delivered. This may be a small amount to you, but in the eBay auction system every little bit helps. The problem with any online auction is that there is a cost of sales and a cost of delivery and if people are not careful then the money made in the auction can quickly be lost in expenses or the in the case of eBay the added cost of delivery frightens off the buyers because of the cost and the bids become very low in numbers as does the final price of the sale.

eBay and other similar sales organisations like Amazon have changed the market place with sales directly from source rather than in a shop and the cost of delivery have decreased as the parcel volume has increased. Worldwide Parcel Services has embraced the changes and carries a large amount of parcels from these different internet sources and looks forward to an increasing business. To this effect the discount for eBay couriers is a pointer of things to come and whilst it is a confusing market at the moment the Internet business will increase and the parcel delivery companies must adapt in order to prosper. Worldwide Parcel Services are pleased to be linked in this way and look forward to an expanding delivery service.

To gain advantage of the 5% discount could not be simpler, it just requires a log on to the Worldwide Parcel Services web site and in the delivery booking system it requires an eBay code and then the delivery system will take care of the delivery process and at the end will reward the customer with the discount. The system is good for all parties as eBay auctions become a little more attractive and the customer and the seller have a suitable discount to take advantage of.

Worldwide Parcel Services have some of the best delivery parcel rates in the business so it is ideal that with the eBay account system that there is an extra discount, They have worked particularly hard to develop a pricing and also a cheap parcel delivery system that is not only affordable but also very professional and efficient so that the customer and the seller are happy. Good delivery systems are not quite as regular as sometimes expected and Worldwide Parcel Services have worked very hard to get to the position where they compete at the top of the market and can develop new and innovative delivery systems and pricing systems such as the one for the eBay discount. So it is time to get selling on eBay and use a delivery service from Worldwide Parcel Services to get a great result.

Worldwide Parcel Services Put Service First

Worldwide Parcel Services are putting all their efforts into giving the best possible service for parcel delivery without compromising the price. In fact the company prides itself on giving its customers generally the lowest prices in the business. Service has always been important in the delivery business but the speed and information has never been stronger than it is at present.

The modern world is now working at such a pace that the parcel delivery service is coming under more and more pressure to provide an ever shortening delivery time.

In order to do this Worldwide Parcel Services is able to offer a next day or 24 hour delivery service for most of its deliveries. However in the present demands are such that where possible Worldwide Parcel Services is able to offer a same day delivery service.

This is largely in part due to ever increasing online sales, as more customers make the move from high street purchases to instead make those purchases online instead. Auction sites are a huge reason for the high demand for quick parcel delivery, and as a resultWorldwide Parcel Services have created a tailored ebay couriers service specifically to deal with the surge.

To the business world Worldwide Parcel Services has recognised that the delivery of papers and documents in a very short time is paramount to the conclusion of good financial deals and without this service the customer has to rely on taking the parcels by hand in taxis or the equivalent. The fact that they can now ring a local delivery service for urgent deliveries saves an extra worry and reduces labour commitments.

There are of course many similar customers who want quick services but in which the delivery has to be made at the best price. The customer with the urgent spare part to deliver or the bulk delivery of catalogues require different services and demand the cost benefits associated with this choice. To deal with this Worldwide Parcel Services are able to offer a complete range of services from the same day delivery to the next day delivery service and to the general cheap parcel delivery service which is usually around 2 days.

The quicker the service the higher the cost but a quick look at the Internet or a telephone call can get the full range of delivery options that are available and with this available it is easy to get the best system for the deliveries concerned. It should be noted that bulk parcel deliveries can trigger some special price advantages as the cost of pick-up and delivery is markedly reduced in this case.

The company is proud of their service and the speed at which delivery can be triggered. They have spent a great deal on developing a computer system that can be accessed easily by Internet and in which the parcel can be put in the system to give an instant quote and if acceptable the parcel can be booked into the system instantly and will then be automatically collected for delivery in a short time.

Everything in the delivery service is geared to the customer from the booking system to the collection and the delivery service. The skill and experience of Worldwide Parcel Service is such that they pride themselves on a total control of the parcel from start to finish, which ensures the best service possible.

Worldwide Parcel Services Highlight The Importance Of Correct Customs Paperwork

If you have never shipped a parcel to a customer abroad then you maybe unaware of the problems that it can entail, and even if you have shipped a parcel abroad before then it may have gone trouble free, however this is not the case every time. Indeed shipping parcels abroad can be a nightmare. You could sell something on eBay to someone in another country and be totally unsuspecting of the problems that maybe coming your way.

Indeed one bad experience of shipping a parcel abroad may leave you never wanting to ship another ever again. There are several reasons for this, commonly paperwork and shipping something illegal. The problem is that many of us shipping goods from our home to another country actually have no idea as to whether they are illegal there or not.

On the other hand with numerous years of experience in the courier services business then Worldwide Parcel Services knows exactly what you can and cannot ship to each country. They can provide advice on not just what you can’t ship legally, but also what may cause moral offence in certain Muslim countries. Just remember a ‘Lads’ magazine sent to a friend abroad that you may find inoffensive could cause religious offence in another country.

Also whilst a stun gun might be legal to sell in the USA, it is illegal to import one in to the majority of countries in Europe. Trying to import one could see you facing illegal arms importation charges.

Indeed when the roles are reversed and you want to send a parcel to USA from UK, the same can apply depending on the goods which are being imported. While the item might seem innocent, it could still be against the law. Most countries have their own specific import and export rules and restrictions.

So if you want to avoid any such import/export problems then you would be best to talk to one of Worldwide Parcel Services shipping experts who will be able to tell you virtually instantly as to whether you are going to encounter shipping problems or not.

This is not to say they cannot help you to ship problematic goods, indeed far from it as Worldwide Parcel Services has experts who are used to dealing with shipping parcels that could be deemed as tricky to ship by other companies.

In the majority of cases you can import or export just about anything as long as you have the right paperwork to do so, and when this involves getting the right export or import licences from the government in question then it is far easier if a shipping expert helps to do this for you. You also need to be aware that if shipping a parcel a very long distance then you will need to provide all of the relevant paperwork for each country it passes through, get this wrong and your parcel could be held up in transit or even confiscated. If you are handling the shipping yourself then you could find that you have the headache of providing all of the paperwork or sorting out any problems on your own.

Whilst it is apparent that it is good to have someone to take care of all of this paperwork, it is good to know that if you ship your parcels using Worldwide Parcel Services they will assist you in ensuring that all of the correct paperwork is shipped with your parcel and deal with any problems the parcel may encounter enroute to its destination, on your behalf, all as part of their standard parcel courier service.

Lost In Translation Or Just Lost In The Post?

If you are in charge of shipping your companies parcels out to customers on a regular basis then you will know how important it is to be able to give your customer an update as to where there parcel is and when it is likely to be with them. Whereas once it was just business customers that wanted to know where their parcel was and when they could expect delivery, the Internet has resulted in massive surge of ecommerce orders in the past year with many people now ordering goods for home delivery, and guess what? Most of these customers also want to be able to find out when their goods will be arriving, and in general a customer ordering on the Internet will be even more demanding when it comes to parcel tracking.

If you are not yet using parcel tracking or your current parcel courier does not offer the service then maybe you should be talking to Worldwide Parcel Services instead. Worldwide Parcel Services are a truly online based parcel courier, this means they understand the way people ordering things on the Internet think, and they use this knowledge to offer a parcel courier service that offers people peace of mind when it comes to parcel tracking.

You may not think that parcel tracking is important, indeed you may never have had a parcel go missing in transit, but the minute one does then you can guarantee that it will be one going to your most important customer, and almost certainly you will also have the bad luck of not having another item in stock to re-send out to them. This could mean that one missing parcel destroys year’s worth of trusted business relationship building – all because you had no parcel tracking in place!

Worldwide Parcel Services recognise that good parcel tracking is becoming increasingly important when you are selling goods online, as if you are running an ecommerce store selling purely online, then what is the one thing you do not want? Phone calls from customers asking where their parcels are. By using Worldwide Parcel Services as a courier you are buying a service, which allows you to offer your customer online parcel tracking, whereby they can simply go to Worldwide Parcel Services website, type in their tracking number and see exactly where there parcel is. By using this type of service you will minimise the number of calls you receive asking, “Where’s my goods?”

Yet their tracking service does not just benefit retail customers. If you are shipping purely to business customers then what could be better than being able to find out online exactly where your customers parcel is whilst they are on the phone to you. By using Worldwide Parcel Services online tracking service you eliminate the need to call your customer back as you can give them an answer right away.

Whilst many companies would pay their parcel courier for the service benefits alone that this enables them to offer their customers, Worldwide Parcel Services offer this tracking service free to every customer as standard.

Tracking A Worldwide Parcel Delivery In The UK

Worldwide Parcel Services is proud to have developed a system with its main delivery route suppliers within the United Kingdom whereby a parcel can be tracked throughout its journey so that at the click of a button the position of the parcel can be established and the user can estimate the arrival time of the goods concerned. Tracking a parcel can be of no use at all to many customers but to some customers it is vitally important to its continued operation.

Worldwide Parcel Services has embraced the delivery system whereby the “Just in Time” work procedures of modern industry require goods delivered just before they are required to be used in the production cycle. “Just in time” systems have been adopted in industry so that the storage requirements of goods delivered into the production line are kept small and close to the works operation. This also means that the customer requires far less in the way of cash flow to manage his business. The only way a business like this survives is if the international parcel delivery systems the company uses can meet the requirements necessary for a good production operation and they can absolutely rely on his courier to deliver on time.

Another important delivery system requires spare parts for emergency breakdowns to be tracked so that everything is ready for their immediate usage on arrival at their end point. The third tracking requirement is the important document or file transfer business which requires legal or financial documents to be transferred in bulk exactly when required and at great speed.

In these cases Worldwide Parcel Service tracking systems come into their own, as a parcel is tracked throughout its journey. On entry into the Worldwide Parcel Service system the parcel is labelled with a bar code system that is unique to the parcel itself. Its position is logged onto the computer system and at this stage the parcel becomes live as far as Worldwide Parcel Service and its couriers are concerned although the results are not usually posted on line within the first 24 hours. Every time the parcel is shipped the delivery movement is registered into the computer by scanning the bar code. This scanning can be instantly sent to the computer library and the customer can access it position and find out just where it is and estimate when it will arrive.

Worldwide Parcels Services is working hard to get this system to a fool proof stage so that the customer is getting more and more information. The whole tracking system is important to the carrier and to the user alike, the carrier needs to know where parcel is at any time so that he can check if the deliveries are on time and that there have been no unexpected delays. This way Worldwide Parcel Service will be able to take action if the problem affects the user. Worldwide Parcel Service can also check on the delivery team at any time and see if there are any weak links.

Is Your Parcel Service Truly Online?

Do you use an online parcel courier? Are they truly online? Many companies simply have a website with a phone number to call to book a collection – So are they really an online parcel courier?

Here at Worldwide Parcels we believe that an online parcel courier is only truly online if they allow you to book online, pay online and track your parcel online.

We can tell you that there are massive advantages to booking a parcel collection and delivery online, versus ordering a collection over the phone.

Firstly if you have to phone the parcel services company and speak to someone to make a booking, then you are probably having to use a rate card to manually work out a volumetric price for your parcel, which let’s face it is not easy. Then you have to phone your pickup through, and probably be on hold for 5 minutes before having to painstakingly read all the details out over the phone. We like you, know that if you do this daily it can waste a lot of your time. So why not opt to do things smarter and simpler?

Using Worldwide Parcels latest online booking system you can get an instant quote on sending a parcel to Australia or Vietnam and every country in the alphabet in between. Also unlike other parcel services our quotation system is fully automated, so you get your quote instantly – no filling in a form and then waiting around for someone to email you a quote back hours later, and no more looking at a rate card to work out the price.

We save you time by simplifying the quotation process, all we need to give you a quote is the destination, and the parcels weight and size – with Worldwide Parcels we make it that simple.

Within seconds we will display your parcel quote online, and you can even see which parcel courier we have chosen to send it with, along with an estimate of how long it will take to get to its destination. We believe we are unique in offering this level of detail on our quotations.

We offer the advantage that as you never have to phone us, you are never wasting time being on hold, or giving out delivery details over the phone.

By using our online parcel booking system you also have the advantage in that you can book a collection at any time of day or night, even at 4 am in the morning! Many traditional parcel couriers only take bookings from 9 to 5, but we are open 24/7. So if you place an order whilst we are asleep, we’ll be straight on to it the next morning.

Worldwide Parcels also offers hassle free parcel tracking, you don’t need to phone us, you can just put your booking number in on our website and see where your parcel is in the delivery chain, meaning you can update your customer instantly.

So the next time you need to book a parcel collection and delivery then try out Worldwide Parcels new online booking system, we guarantee it will save you time and offer you the best rates available with the chosen parcel courier.

At Worldwide Parcel Services we designed our online ordering system with the customer in mind, we feel when ordering online that you need to know the price instantly for shipping your goods, so if you know the size of your parcel and its weight then that’s just what we give you – a quote, instantly. No more hunting round for a volumetric conversion chart to work out what you think we are going to charge you, it’s all worked out for you with you barely lifting a finger.

Also we recognised that many of our customers were phoning up from busy, noisy environments and that under such circumstances it’s easy for one of us to get the address details wrong, so by being able to type in the addressee’s delivery details you know that we’ve been given exactly the right address to ship your parcel to.

Ordering online also means that we can send you a confirmation of your delivery time and collection, as well as confirming the pickup point and destination, this is not a service you get with many couriers if you only order by telephone.

Also with many courier services that only take bookings by phone you can only book a parcel when they are open. With our online system you book a collection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even when we’re fast asleep. This means if you’re running late and our switchboards closed for the today, you can still safely book a collection for the next day, and we’ll be on the case first thing the next morning.

Worldwide Parcel Services offer a truly online service with great free added benefits such as online parcel tracking, allowing you to see where your parcel is at any time of day or night. The beauty of our system is that as long as you have your tracking number with you, you can check where it is from anywhere in the World that you can get Internet access, including your Smartphone.

Parcel2Go Helping Small Businesses to Beat Royal Mail Price Increase

Small firms feeling the squeeze following the Royal Mail’s decision to increase the price of first and second class stamps at the end of last month are being offered a helping hand by Bolton-based online parcel delivery firm Parcel2Go.

The company says businesses and individuals can try to beat the Royal Mail price increase by becoming Parcel2Go users and benefitting from the vast range of reliable and cost-effective UK express delivery solutions available through the website.

With just a few clicks of a mouse, customers can order delivery services from some of the world’s major courier companies such as FedEx, Parcelforce and Yodel. Changes to the way Royal Mail prices parcels means people will be better off sending any consignment weighing more than 750g through Parcel2Go.

Parcel2Go’s marketing director Richard Mercer said: “We understand how much pressure consumers and small businesses are under at the moment, which is why we are urging people to see if they are able to get a better deal on their package deliveries through the Parcel2Go website.

“Our quick quote function makes it simple and extremely fast to get a price for a delivery, but that simple move could result in a sizeable saving. What’s more, because we only deal with the world’s top courier firms, individuals and businesses always know their consignments are in safe hands.”

Convenience matters to everyone, which is why the Collect+ services available through Parcel2Go have become so popular. Customers not able to meet a courier to pick up their package can choose instead to drop it off at one of the 3,000 corner shops and convenience stores in the UK that make up the Collect+ network.

“Convenience, speed, reliability and affordability are what we’re about,” said Mr Mercer. “We’re calling on everyone affected by the recent Royal Mail price hike to see if they could save, and get a better service though Parcel2Go.”

Provide rapid parcel delivery options and reap the benefits, says Parcel2Go

Businesses should look to offer customers a wide range of rapid delivery options if they want to maximise sales opportunities, according to online parcel delivery specialist Parcel2Go.

The Bolton-based company has advised online retailers of all sizes to ensure that they have a variety of solutions available, including next-day, 48-hour, Saturday morning and overseas delivery options. Customers who receive their goods quickly are more likely to leave a positive review of their experience, and new research has shown just how important positive feedback is to UK businesses.

Parcel2Go marketing director Richard Mercer said research carried out by social commerce firm Reevoo had highlighted how much online shoppers value reviews from other customers, and therefore the importance businesses should place on boosting service levels.

He said: “Managing customer orders quickly and efficiently once they have been submitted is critical to the smooth running of any retail company, and research has shown the value that shoppers place on having access to cheap and fast delivery services. It’s common sense that they want to receive their items as soon as possible.

“Companies should capitalise on this and make sure that delivery options from the leading firms that people will recognise and trust, such as Parcelforce and FedEx, are easily accessible through the site at the point of sale. If customers receive their products quickly and in top condition, then of course they’re more likely to leave a positive review of their experience.”

Reevoo’s survey found that 88 per cent of the 1,000 customers it questioned said they either “sometimes” or “always” consulted reviews before heading to the checkout.

As well as offering domestic and international freight delivery options from the UK’s top couriers, Parcel2Go also provides customers with a parcel tracking facility, so consignments can be monitored no matter where they are in the world.

The team at Bolton-based parcel delivery specialist Parcel2Go has sent its best wishes to Irish-owned courier firm Nightline, as the company celebrates its 20th year in business.

According to a report by Post & Parcel, Ireland’s deputy Prime Minister Eamon Gilmore, who recently visited Nightline’s headquarters in Dublin, said: “Nightline is an excellent example of an innovative Irish company that is enjoying success despite the current downturn.

“Twenty years in business is a significant milestone and it is clear that the company has been built on a solid foundation of innovation, commitment and hard work.”

Don’t Get Caught Out When Sending Parcels To The Relies Down Under, Says Parcel2Go

Online parcel delivery specialist Parcel2Go has reminded anyone planning on sending parcels to relatives or friends living in Australia that shipping goods with a reliable courier company is essential if they want to ensure their package will arrive in one piece.

Australia and New Zealand have become massively popular as destinations to relocate to with Brits of all ages. A survey conducted by research firm YouGov last month found that Australia was the number one destination for Brits considering a move abroad, with the United States and Canada taking second and third place respectively. More than two-fifths (42 per cent) of the 1,650 UK adults polled said they would “seriously consider” leaving Britain, while 6 per cent of respondents said they were actively making plans to leave the country.

With an increasing number of people looking to stay in contact with friends and relatives outside the UK, Parcel2Go’s marketing director Richard Mercer has highlighted the importance of using a reliable courier when shipping abroad, and also checking that parcels are safely and securely wrapped before they’re sent off.

He said: “With the UK officially back in recession and what seems like more tough times ahead for people in the UK, it is no surprise that the prospect of a move Down Under seems particularly appealing. We just want to remind people that know someone who has taken the plunge and relocated, to take every care to ensure their overseas packages get to Australia safe and sound.

“Using one of the cheap international delivery services available through Parcel2Go makes sense for anyone looking for speed, reliability and value for money. People must also do everything they can to wrap their packages properly and prepare them for a journey of 10,000 miles or so.”

Parcel2Go Says Firms Should Make The Most Of Growing Online Spend

With people in the UK spending more money online than ever before, companies need to make sure that they have a suitable digital presence to be able to market their goods and services effectively, according to Britain’s largest online parcel delivery service.

Parcel2Go helps online companies of all shapes and sizes to deliver customers’ orders to addresses across the UK, and around the world, every day. And according to research carried out by payment services firm WorldPay, the average British consumer now spends a quarter of their disposable income with online retailers.

Parcel2Go has seen the effects that increasing consumer confidence and the ease with which people can now buy online have had on parcel delivery volumes. The company’s marketing director Richard Mercer said firms must ensure they have suitable parcel delivery systems set up in order to capitalise on the increase in online spend.

He said: “Having a website that is easy to find and intuitive to use is vital if businesses want to draw in customers in the first place. Having a smooth and simple delivery process for when an order has been placed is then vital if they want to keep those customers.

“It has never been more important to have a fast and efficient domestic and international parcel delivery offer. WorldPay’s research is evidence of how much consumers have come to rely on the internet when it comes to purchasing goods and services, and Parcel2Go’s experience is that customers now expect to receive their goods quickly and in perfect condition.

“Hiring the services of a professional world courier to handle deliveries is now critical.”

Parcel2Go assists businesses in organising deliveries to countries across the world, from Spain to Singapore, with the help of some of the industry’s leading courier companies, including City Link, Parcelforce, FedEx and UPS.

Parcel2Go calls on consumers to support British businesses

One of the leading online parcel delivery firms, Parcel2Go, has called on consumers to help get the country’s economy back on track by supporting British businesses.

The Office for National Statistics announced last week that the UK economy had gone back into recession, leading to calls for people to be more patriotic when they are making purchases. Parcel2Go has added its voice to the campaign and encouraged shoppers to do what they can to help support British firms.

Richard Mercer, marketing director at Bolton-based Parcel2Go, said: “It’s more important than ever that we buy products made in Britain and support British businesses. The internet has made it simple to purchase products from all over the UK, and if companies use the services of reliable courier firms then items can be with consumers extremely quickly.

“As has been said by other retail industry commentators, UK firms also need to make sure that they are promoting themselves and their products properly and ensuring potential customers know if their goods are made in Britain.”

With the London 2012 Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations both falling within a short space of time, businesses have been advised to do everything possible to make the most of the patriotic mood sweeping across the UK.

Parcel2Go works with a huge variety of British businesses to organise delivery of their products to addresses all over the UK on a daily basis. The company helps individuals and British businesses to deliver more than two million domestic and international parcel consignments every year with the assistance of industry-leading couriers including Parcelforce and City Link.

Retail Results Highlight Importance Of Parcel Delivery Services, Says Parcel2Go

Despite UK retailers feeling the pressure as consumers’ incomes continue to be squeezed and shoppers keep a tight rein on their spending, online channels are still delivering impressive results. According to online parcel delivery specialist Parcel2Go, businesses must look to capitalise on the opportunities available and encourage consumers to spend by providing a reliable service and rapid parcel delivery options.

Recent financial results from Marks & Spencer revealed a 22.8 per cent increase in e-commerce sales in the 13 weeks to March 31. That was despite a 0.7 per cent fall in like-for-like sales in the UK. Department store John Lewis also posted impressive online sales results in the week to April 14, with a 57.8 per cent year-on-year increase in sales at johnlewis.com. This followed a 39.1 per cent year-on-year increase the previous week.

According to Richard Mercer, marketing director at Parcel2Go, these latest results highlight just how important online channels have become to retailers, and should serve as a reminder that customers expect goods ordered online to arrive promptly.

He said: “As an increasing number of shoppers become comfortable with shopping over the internet, all businesses must appreciate how vital it is first of all to have an online presence, and then to ensure goods arrive with shoppers quickly and in tip-top condition.

“By calling on the services of reliable and affordable courier firms, all companies can put themselves in the best possible position to win repeat custom.”

Results of a survey released earlier this month showed that out of 2,000 online shoppers, 74 per cent had abandoned purchases because they felt the delivery charge was too high, suggesting that the issue postage rates is something else businesses trading on the internet must remain aware of.
